Hans Meyer, trained in Germany, founded Auto Werkstatt 30 years ago and it has been in its present location 25 years. He specializes in repairing the older foreign cars, with emphasis on the Volkswagen, Porsche and Volvo. Other makes are also repaired.

The shop is located in City Heights, the older section of San Diego. Motor rebuilding, brake work, clutches, tune-ups, oil changes and electrical work are some of the services offered.

Auto Werkstatt's three mechanics are Ralph, Mark and Hans, the owner.
